Phil attended Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, after high school in rural Manitoba. Although born in England, Phil grew up on the family dairy farm in Haywood, Manitoba. Phil received his D.V.M. from WCVM in 1995 and immediately moved to Victoria where he has practised ever since. Phil is a general veterinary practitioner with strong interests in medical management and disease prevention of dogs and cats. Phil brings to the Elk Lake Veterinary Hospital his caring compassion for sick and injured family pets combined with his passion for state of the art medical care. Phil has extensive experience in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery as well as emergency medicine and surgery in a mixed animal practice environment including horses and farm animals.
